Create DFMEA
Step 1 : Navigate to the FMEA section and click on the DFMEA tab.
Step 2 : Click on the +DFMEA button.
The Create DFMEA screen will appear.
Step 3 : In the create DFMEA screen, fill in all the required fields.
Step 4 : Click on the Create button.
The new DFMEA will be created. The newly created DFMEA will appear in the Master list of DFMEAs as a draft DFMEA.
When we click on any DFMEA from the master list, a consolidated view of the particular DFMEA will appear.
Add System
Step 1 : From the master list of DFMEAs, select the required DFMEA in which you want to add the System.
Step 2 : The Consolidated view will appear. Click on the "Edit View" button.
The Edit View page will appear.
Step 3 : Click on the "+System" button.
The Create System screen will appear.
Step 4 : In the Create System screen, fill in all the details and click on the Save button.
The System will be created with a pop-up confirming the creation of the new system. If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next process after saving the current System just created.
Add Sub System
Note : A Subsystem can be added, only if there is a system.
Step 1 : From the master list of DFMEAs select the required DFMEA in which you want to add the Sub System.
Step 2 : The Consolidated view will appear. Click on the "Edit View" button.
The Edit View page will appear.
Step 3 : Click on the +Sub System button.
Note : The + Sub System button will be enabled only if there is a System. The Sub System can be added only to a System.
The Create Sub System Screen will appear.
Step 4 : In the Create Sub System screen, fill in all the details and click on the Save button. In the Create Sub System screen, you will have to choose the respective System for which you need to add the Sub System.
The Sub System will be created with a pop-up confirming creation of the new Sub System. If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Sub System after saving the current Sub System just created.
Add Failure Mode
Step 1 : Select the Sub System in which you need to add the Failure Mode. The +FM button will appear. Click on the +FM button.
Create Failure Mode screen will appear.
Step 3 : Select the required Sub System to which you need to add the Failure Mode and fill in all the required details in the Create Failure Mode screen. Now click on the Save button.
The Failure Mode will be created with a pop-up confirming the creation of Failure Mode. If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Failure Mode after saving the current Failure Mode just created.
Add Failure Cause
Step 1 : Click on the +FC button corresponding to the Failure Mode, in which you need to add the Failure Cause.
The Create Failure Cause Screen will appear.
Step 2 : Fill in all the required details and click on the Add button.
If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Failure Cause after adding the current Failure Cause just added.
The Failure Cause will be created for the particular Failure Mode with a pop-up confirming the creation of Failure cause.
On selecting the respective Failure Mode of the newly created Failure Cause, the Failure Cause will appear in a table.

Add Action Item
Step 1 : Click on the +AI button in the Failure Cause for which you need to add the Action item.
The Create Action Item screen will appear.
Step 2 : Fill in all the required details in the Add Action Item Screen and click on the Save button.
If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Action Item after adding the current Action Item just added. The Action Item will be added with a pop-up confirming the creation of the new Action Item
The Action Item will be created.
On selecting the respective Failure Cause of the newly created Action Item, all Action Items added for that Failure Cause will appear in a table below.
Action Item Workflow
The Workflow for the Action Item is given in the block diagram below. The Process Owner and the Action Owner are the persons who will manage the Action Items. The Process Owner creates the Action Item with a due date and the status of the Action Item will be "Open". When the status is changed to In Progress or In Review, the Action Owner should do the corresponding operation and change the status to Closed or Cancelled. In case the status is changed as Extend Due Date by the Process Owner, the Action Owner can change the Due date and change the status to In Review or to In Progress. The block diagram given below explains the Workflow for the Action Item.
Edit System
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEA, select the FMEA in which you wish to edit the system and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settings icon corresponding to the System you wish to edit and select the Edit option.
The Update System screen will appear.
Step 2 : Make the required changes in the Update System screen and Click on the Save button.
The System will be updated with a pop-up confirming the update made.
Edit Sub System
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEA, select the FMEA in which you need to edit the Sub System and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settings icon corresponding to the Sub System you wish to edit in the System and Subsystem table.
Step 2: In the update Sub System screen that appears make the required changes and click on the tick icon.
The Sub System will be edited with a pop-up confirming the update.
Delete System
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEA, select the FMEA in which you need to delete any System and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settings icon corresponding to the System you wish to delete and select the Delete option.
The selected System will be deleted with a pop-up confirming the deletion.
Delete Sub System
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to delete the Sub System and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settings icon corresponding to the Sub System you wish to delete and select the Delete option.
The selected Sub System will be deleted with a pop-up confirming the deletion.
Edit Failure Modes, Failure Causes and Action Items
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to edit the Failure Modes, Failure Causes or Action Items and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View navigate to the respective table of Failure Mode or Failure Cause or Action Item.
Step 2 : Select the Edit icon to Edit any Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item. Make the required changes and save. The Failure Modes, Failure Causes or Action Items will be modified.
Delete Failure Modes, Failure Cause and Action Items
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to delete the Failure Modes, Failure Causes, or Action Items and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View navigate to the respective table of Failure Mode or Failure Cause or Action Item.
Step 2 : Select the Delete icon to Delete any Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item. The respective Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item will be deleted.
Import System(s)
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEA, select the FMEA in which you wish to import System(s) and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the "..." icon in the left pane.
Step 2: Click on the Import System option.
Step 3 : In the Import screen that appears, upload the relevant CSV file needed to import by clicking on the Choose File button.
Step 4: Click on the Next button.
Step 5 : In this stage called the Field mapping stage, map the CSV fields with the required fields of System and click on the Next button. This takes us to the Validate stage in order to check whether all fields are validated and the status of all the Fields is Success.
Step 6 : Now Click on the Import Data button. The System will be imported.
Step 7 : The Result stage will appear. Now click on the Done button.
Import Sub System(s)
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to import the Sub System(s) and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the "..." icon in the left pane.
Step 2: Click on the Import Sub System option.
Step 3 : In the Import screen that appears, upload the relevant CSV file needed to import by clicking on the Choose File button.
Step 4: Click on the Next button.
Step 5 : In this step called the Field mapping stage, map the CSV fields with the required fields of Sub System and click on the Next button. This takes us to Validate stage in order to check whether all fields are validated and the status of all the Fields is Success.
Step 6 : Now Click on the Import Data button. The Sub System will be imported.
Step 7 : The Result stage will appear. Now click on the Done button.
Download Sample CSV for System and Sub System
Note: The downloaded sample CSV file can be imported by adding the required data.
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA from which you wish to download the sample CSV file for System or Sub System and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the "..." icon in the left pane.
Step 2 : Now select the Download CSV option for System or Sub System as required. The CSV file will be downloaded.
Export Failure Mode, Failure Cause and Action Item as a CSV file
To export Failure Mode, Failure Cause and Action Item as a CSV file, follow the steps below:
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA from which you wish to export the Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the Export icon in the respective table of Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item.
Step 2 : Select the Export as CSV option. The CSV file will be exported.
Import Failure Mode and Failure Cause
To import Failure Mode and Failure Cause from a CSV file, follow the steps given below:
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you wish to import the Failure Mode or Failure Cause and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the "…" icon in the respective table of Failure Mode or Failure Cause. Select the Import data option.
Step 2 : In the Import screen that appears, upload the relevant CSV file which you wish to import by clicking on the Choose File button.
Step 3: Click on the Next button.
Step 4 : In this step called the Field mapping stage, map the CSV fields with the required fields of Failure Modes or Failure Causes and then click on the Next button. This will take us to the
Validate stage in order to check whether all fields are validated and the status of all the Fields is Success.
Step 5 : Now click on the Import Data button. The Failure Modes or Failure Causes will be imported.
