Create PFMEA
Step 1 : Navigate to the FMEA section and click on the PFMEA tab.
Step 2 : Click on the +PFMEA button.
The Create PFMEA screen will appear.
Step 3 : In the create PFMEA screen, fill in all the required fields.
Step 4 : Click on the Create button.
The new PFMEA will be created. The newly created PFMEA will appear in the master list of PFMEAs as a draft PFMEA.
When we click on any PFMEA from the master list, a consolidated view of the particular FMEA will appear.
Add Process
To add process in a pfmea follow the steps below.
Step 1 : From the master list of PFMEAs, select the required PFMEA in which you want to add the Process.
Step 2 : The Consolidated view will appear. Click on the "Edit View" button.
The Edit View page will appear.
Step 3 : Click on the "+Process" button.
The Create Process screen will appear.
Step 4 : In the Create Process Screen, fill in all the details and click on the Save button.
The Process will be created. If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next process after saving the current process just created.
After adding microprocess to the created process it will appear in the table view.
Add Microprocess
Note : The microprocess can be added only after creating a process. The + Micro Process button will be enabled only if there is a Process. In other words the Microprocess can be added only to a Process.
To add the microprocess, follow the steps below
Step 1 : In the Edit view of the FMEA in which you need to add the microprocess, click on the "+Microprocess" button.
Step 2 : In the create microprocess screen that appears,select the process to which you need to add the microprocess.
Step 3 : Now fill in all the details in the create microprocess screen and click on the save button.
The Microprocess will be created. If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Microprocess after saving the current Microprocess just created
The created microprocess will appear in the table view, expand the corresponding process step in the table to view the process and microprocess step details.
Add Failure Mode
Step 1 : Select theProcess and Microprocess step in which you need to add the Failure Mode. The +Failure Mode button will appear.
Step 2 : Click on the +Failure Mode button.
The Create Failure Mode screen will appear.
Step 3 : Now fill in all the required details in the Create Failure Mode screen and click on the Save button.
The Failure Mode will be created. If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Failure Mode after saving the current Failure Mode just created.
Add Failure Cause
Step 1 : Select the Failure Mode to which you need to add the Failure Cause. Click on the +FC button corresponding to the Failure Mode, in which you need to add the Failure Cause.
The Create Failure Cause Screen will appear.
Step 2 : Fill in all the required details and click on the Save button.
If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Failure Cause after adding the current Failure Cause just created.
The Failure Cause will be added for the particular Failure Mode.
Add Action Item
Note:
- The Failure Cause will have two auto populating fields named Action Priority and Action Recommended. Based on the Action Recommended field data, the Failure Cause table will show the +AI button to Add Action Items.
Step 1 : Click on the +AI button in the Failure Cause for which you need to add the Action item.
The Create Action Item screen will appear.
Step 2 : Fill in all the required details in the Create Action Item Screen and click on the Save button.
If you click on the Create Another button, the screen will remain the same to create next Action Item after adding the current Action Item just added. The Action Item will be added.
On selecting the respective Failure Cause of the newly created Action Item, the Action Item will appear in a table.
Action Item Workflow
The Workflow for the Action Item is given in the block diagram below. The Process Owner and the Action Owner are the persons who will manage the Action Items. The Process Owner creates the Action Item with a due date and the status of the Action Item will be "Open". When the status is changed to In Progress or In Review, the Action Owner should do the corresponding operation and change the status to Closed or Cancelled. In case the status is changed as Extend Due Date by the Process Owner, the Action Owner can change the Due date and change the status to In Review or to In Progress. The block diagram given below explains the Workflow for the Action Item .
Edit Process
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select any draft FMEA, in which you need to add the Process and go to the Edit View, click on the Edit icon corresponding to the Process and select the Edit option.
The Edit Process screen will appear.
Step 2 : Make the required changes in the Edit Process screen and Click on the Save button.
The Process will be updated.
Edit Microprocess
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs,select any draft FMEA, in which you need to edit Microprocess and go the Edit View. In the Edit View, select the process and microprocess from the process and microprocess table. Now select the edit icon corresponding to the Microprocess which you wish to edit.
Step 2: The table will be open for editing the data. Now make the required changes and click on the tick icon to save the changes.
The Microprocess will be edited.
Delete Process
Step 1 : In the Edit View, click on the Delete icon corresponding to the Process you nedd to delete.
Step 2 : The Delete Process screen appears. In the Delete Process screen check the confirm box and click on the Delete button.
The Process will be removed.
Delete Microprocess
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to delete the microprocess and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, select the process and microprocess from which you need to delete the microprocess from the process and microprocess table. Now select the delete icon corresponding to the Microprocess which you wish to delete.
Step 2 : Now click on the tick icon that appears in the row.
The Microprocess will be deleted.
Edit Failure Modes, Failure Cause and Action Items.
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to delete Failure Modes, Failure Causes or Action Items and go to the Edit View.
In the Edit View, navigate to the respective table of Failure Mode or Failure Cause or Action Item.
Step 2 : Select the Edit icon to Edit any Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item. Make the required changes and save. The Failure Modes, Failure Causes, or Action Items will be modified.
Delete Failure Modes, Failure Cause and Action Items
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you need to delete Failure Modes, Failure Causes or Action Items and go to the Edit View.
In the Edit View, navigate to the respective table of Failure Mode or Failure Cause or Action Item.
Step 2 : Select the Delete icon to Delete any Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item. The respective Failure Mode, Failure Cause, or Action Item will be deleted.
Import Process(es)
Step 1 :From the master list select any FMEA in which you wish to import Process(es) and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settings icon in the process and microprocess table.
Step 2: Click on the Import Process option.
Step 3 : In the Import screen that appears, upload the relevant CSV file needed to import by clicking on the Choose File button.
Step 4: Click on the Next button.
Step 5 : In this step called Field Mapping stage, map the CSV fields with the required fields of Process and click on the Next button. This takes us to the Validate stage in order to check whether all fields are validated and the status of all the Fields is Success.
Step 6 : Now Click on the Import Data button. The Process will be imported.
Step 7 : The Result stage will appear. Now click on the Done button.
Import Microprocess(es)
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA in which you wish to import Microprocess((es) and go to the Edit View. Click on the settings icon in the process and microprocess table.
Step 2: Click on the Import Microprocess option.
Step 3 : In the Import screen that appears, upload the relevant CSV file needed to import by clicking on the Choose File button.
Step 4: Click on the Next button.
Step 5 : In this step called the Field mapping stage, map the CSV fields with the required fields of Microprocess and click on the Next button. This takes us to the Validate stage in order to check whether all fields are validated and the status of all the Fields is Success.
Step 6 : Now Click on the Import Data button. The MicroProcess will be imported.
Step 7 : The Result stage will appear. Now click on the Done button.
Download Sample CSV and Sample Template for Process and Microprocess
Note: The downloaded sample CSV file can be imported by adding the required data.
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs, select the FMEA from which you need to download the sample CSV or Sample template file of Process or Microprocess and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the Settings icon present in the Process and microprocess table.
Step 2 : Now select Download CSV option or Download Template option for Process or Microprocess as required. The CSV file will be downloaded.
Downoad Sample Failure Mode, Failure Cause and Action CSV file and Templates
To download Failure Mode, Failure Cause and Action Item sample CSV file or template, follow the steps below.
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs select the FMEA in which you need to download Failure Mode, Failure Cause and Action Item sample CSV file or template. Go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settingsicon in the respective table of Failure Mode, Failure Cause or Action Item.
Step 2 : Select the required download CSV or Template option. The CSV file will be downloaded.
Import Failure Mode and Failure Cause
To import Failure Mode and Failure Cause as a CSV file,
Step 1 : From the master list of FMEAs select the FMEA in which you need to import Failure Mode or Failure Cause and go to the Edit View. In the Edit View, click on the settings icon in the respective table of Failure Mode or Failure Cause. Select the Import data option.
Step 2 : In the Import screen that appears, upload the relevant CSV file needed to import by clicking on the Choose File button.
Step 3 : Click on the Next button.
Step 4 : In this stage called Field mapping stage, map the CSV fields with the required fields of Failure Modes or Failure Causes and click on the Next button. This takes us to the Validate stage in order to check whether all fields are validated and the status of all the Fields is Success.
Step 5 : Now Click on the Import Data button. The Failure Modes or Failure Causes will be imported.
Step 6 : The Result stage will appear. Now click on the Done button.
